Founded in 1978, Jape Furnishing Superstore began as a small family run business operating from a shared space in the city. Today, the business continues to be proudly family owned, with third generation members of the Jape family actively involved, carrying forward a legacy built on trust, quality and local knowledge.

What started small has grown into one of the Territory’s largest furniture showrooms. Our 4000sqm permanent display room is operated by a team of more than 25 Territorians and showcases a carefully selected range of designer furnishings made for Territory living.

With decades of experience, we understand both furniture and the local environment. Our focus remains on style, comfort and quality that performs in the Territory climate, across home, office and outdoor spaces.

As a locally owned business, we also understand the frustrations customers often face with large national chains. By purchasing in bulk and shipping directly to Darwin, we maintain strong stock levels, reduce delivery times and keep freight costs lower for our customers.

Our service does not end at the checkout. We also provide fast delivery, professional installation, furniture removals and a furniture redirection service, ensuring every stage of your purchase is handled with care and consideration.

Through our furniture redirection initiative, quality furniture is kept out of landfill and redirected to Territorian families in need. By holding spare parts locally, we are also able to assist with minor repairs when wear and tear occurs, helping extend the life of your furniture.

Our commitment to the Jape Experience is supported by a dedicated Customer Service Officer whose role is to assist customers when issues arise and ensure concerns are resolved promptly and fairly. This means you always have a clear point of contact and dedicated support at our store if something does not go as planned.

Our Community

We are proud to support the Territory through long standing partnerships and community initiatives. This includes our furniture redirection program, working alongside organisations such as GIVIT, Anglicare, Dawn House and many other local charities. Through this program, quality furniture is redirected away from landfill and into the homes of Territorian families in need.

Our commitment to community has also been recognised with the Telstra NT Business Award for Social Responsibility in 2008 and 2010, acknowledging our support of organisations including Lifeline, The Salvation Army, St John Ambulance, Total Recreation, as well as local schools and community groups.
